So this is more of a philosophical post. 🙂
During the holidays when there is more time around for the idle mind, I got to thinking and thought about all the new people that I met in 2005. Now friendships take time to develop and most of the time they become stronger over the period of a few years. Of course, in college its different. There you have lot more oppurtunities to meet new people and a new person that you have just met can become a good friend in a few months time only. But outside of college, meeting new people is not that easy. And it takes some years before the people that you have met start making an impact on your life.
So now it remains to be seen as to when the new people that I met in 2005 will move closer in the friendship circle. Some of them are already good friends now. Some may not be seen at all for some years.
Maybe the amount of new people that you meet in a year can be taken as one of the measures that how successful your year has been as compared to 2004. Its always fun to meet new personalities. For one thing is sure, the world is small and these personalities will bump into you again sometime. If not this year, then maybe after a gap of some years. But the probability of bumping again is high. And a small percentage of them will also impact your life either directly or indirectly.
So go out there and make some new friends and acquiantances this year. 🙂
