Kutchis just wanna have fun. Irrespective of the time of the year. As 2005 winds down it presents us with one last chance for fun. The Dec 31st night. The New Year’s eve.
How about celebrating together the onset of 2006. We can play games and of course dance to the beats of the latest songs. The kids will also have a gala time.
I have listed this event in the Upcoming Events section of the website. So if you are interested in attending please indicate it there. That also has a comments section which we can use to communicate to and fro regarding creative ideas for this party.
Bhavini has already reserved the clubhouse at Remington Groove (Sunnyvale) for 31st. We have permission till 12.15am for that clubhouse. However lets keep the venue as tentative right now. Based on how many people are interested we can decide the actual venue. The clubhouse is the best since it provides lot of room but we have other options too.
Tentative timing right now could be starting at 7.30 or 8 pm and ending at 12.15 am. Food details can be decided via comments section.

Hey this is really a very very good idea. I am in for the event. Well we can setup few game events where in all the people can participate and also seperately organise games for the kids. Well i have one more idea but not sure if all agree to it … but still putting it forward the idea is that if we can arrange a projector or something like that than we can get some comedy movies or the new releases in december and put ON the movie…
We can plan to meet after dinner at around 8-8.30pm. Everybody can takecare of own dinner and @ party we can have some dessert. Less time spent co-ordinating tasks related to food & more time for fun. Just my 2 cents
Well don’t see that many comments and not that many RSVP’s too….Dear creative kutchi’s please add your comments, so that we can plan something nice. There’s an award for the best creative idea for the new year’s party 🙂

So presently, me, Ajay and Aayush will join. Regarding food, meeting before or after dinner anything is ok. Also I like the idea of arranging for a projector and watching comedy movie. Games is something we have done before, so dance and movie would be 2 thing i would opt for.
Ideas from my side:
1) Does anyone have a Karaoke system. We can have a small karaoke session to the beats of instrumental music.
2) Other ideas are Housie (Manish/Neelam had a different kind of Housie – more customized one).
3) “7 up 7 down” -> a (silly) game which can be played in a few mins only.
4) Costume Party? Should we have a themed party? Pirates? Hawaiian? Anything goes?
In short, lets make this one of the most creative game nights. No usual games or even if usual games then let them be with an interesting twist. Dance/Music will be creative too.
We are not getting any younger. :-). So lets take this oppurtunity to celebrate together and have a grand event while we still have the enthusiasm.
we will 98% be there to celebrate New Year with all of you …Prashant’s idea of having Costume Party & playing unusual games is really nice , sounds interesting..should def think about a nice theme if every one wishes tooo…i guess these things will keep the party lively …It will be difficult to decide on the movie cos there are chances that few would have seen some movies & few would have not ..so i guess it will be difficult to select one. Regarding food, meeting before or after dinner anything is with us.

Hey guys sorry for not replying earlier was not sure whether we would be able to attend the party. But now looks like we will be there . I will definately try to get the housie ( dont worry its not the number housie but different kind ) . Other idea I had was AD MAD WORLD . give very unusual product and then a group can make advertisements. It can be fun and creative .

Cool idea. We are definitely in. Karaoke would be fun, as would be some version of truth or dare. Always up for some dancing – as Prashant says, we are not getting any younger…
Karaoke, a different housie, costume/theme party all sounds lot of fun. Some more ideas for a costume/theme party – glow in the dark – no need to get disco lights and stuff for the dance floor :), color party(pick a color and everyone dresses in the same color), western formal/semi-formal dress code.
2 more cents for meeting after dinner. Snacks+dessert items can be arranged.

Since for various events we usually dress up in Indian formals, this time we can go with Western Formal.
If colors – can go with x-mas colors – red, white. (green/black ??)
If we are in town, we will definately attend. Send us the details about the party.
As far as suggestions go :
* Dinner in a nice restaurant to ring out old and ring in new.After that we all party. Anyone for that, let me know – I can help RSVP in a nice place.
* Formal western dress sounds good for the occasion.
* Movies – we watch them all the time – not fun fo that night, lets have dance or dandia – bring in the new year in Desi style.
