  1. Prashant Shah (Naredi) and Dimple (Nani Khakhar) both from N. Since I am in US and Dimple in India we both will write our own separate updates. :-). Cricket fever is on and since I am a big cricket fan, I am enjoying watching all the World Cup matches and playing the KV Fantasy Cricket League. It was good to play some actual cricket too with the KV Strikers Gang. Hopefully we can play regularly.

We went on one hike in Jan and were supposed to go on one more in Feb or Mar to see some waterfalls but the rain never materialized. I am glad that March is ending soon and that means that I will be in India soon back with my family. Its hard being away from family. Having the KV Family around helps and Facetime and WhatsApp help too, but you realize the importance of being around them only when you are not around them. So all those who are near your families count your lucky stars. 🙂

  2. Hello Friends,
This is Nilesh (Merau) and Mrinalini (Pundi) reporting live from Cupertino. I have been following and enjoying the Fudadi Maasi and other updates on Whatsapp group. I am working at Healthline in SF since last 8 months. I am from Malad – Mumbai and moved to US for my second innings in Feb 2012. we recently completed 3 years. My first innings was from 1996 to 2000, though most of it in Michigan at that time.

Our Daughter Keyas goes to Kennedy Middle School. Mrinalini is doing her MBA in Information systems, now with the H4-EAD coming soon, usko kaam pe lagana hai. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Looking forward to our Picnic and Semi-Final match next week. KV Parivar rocks….!!

  3. As promised, doing Panchaat on behalf of Romil Rambhia (Gaam: Ramania) and Komal Dedhia (Gaam : Nani Khakhar).

Romil and Komal have been busy planning for the little one’s arrival in July. They have had a number of guests in Santa Rosa in the past months and are expecting to host even a greater number in the remaining 9 months of this year. They are gracious hosts and a little time spent in their lovely house in Santa Rosa will recharge your batteries.

Romil’s Party days may be coming to an end but Fun days are just starting. 🙂

  4. Well said Prasant !!! One of these days, I will write things to do in “Santa Rosa” for added incentive !!!

  5. Our gaam is Nangalpur. (Sejal and Pinank Gogri). We have been lucky that our parents and kaka/kakis are here, so we have been making trips with them locally and sometimes to nearby tourist places. (Crater (Lake) Tahoe, etc.) Our daughter Rutvi has started to walk and has started speaking a few words. She’s very fond of food even though she doesn’t have any teeth she likes a bite of everything we have. We were waiting for her to say ‘mom’ for the first time, but it has resulted in this now:

As some of her pronunciation is still developing, she’s not able to make certain sounds. For e.g. to call ‘Masa/Masi’ she says ‘Makaa/Maki’. Once we were out in a library and an indian man was walking pass. She pointed to him and shouted ‘Ma ka ..’. I later realized what that guy must be thinking, that as a toddler she’s already saying things like ‘Ma Ka ____’. We’ll have to be careful before she goes to India next.

  6. This Neelam Dharod ( Gaam Vidh) and Manish Dharod ( Gaam Patri) reporting from Fremont. Lately we have been hooked on to TED.com. It is amazing source of ideas and inspiration.

I work as a School Psychologist for Fremont Unified school District. The students in one of my schools are from low socio economic background. I am amazed at how my staff ( Principal ,teachers, School secretary, yard duty personnel, custodian) work really hard and go out of their way to support students and families. I am amazed at how students and their families are resilient and are able to bounce back inspite of hardships.

  7. Nilesh Buricha (Gaam: Pratappar) and Vandana Buricha (Gaam: Vandh).
My Gaam in Mumbai is Prabhadevi and in US is Pleasanton. I work at PG&E and Vandana works at Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD).

My previous gigs were at HP and SAP. One of my best friends lives in Pune and Puneri Misaal is my favorite food. I seem to have some association with the letter “P”.

Walking and listening to audio books/podcasts is my way of spending free time. My goal for this year is to walk for 2.5 Million steps. For the first 3 months I have walked for 680,000 steps and there are few more days left in March!
